In the Beginning

I picked up the 2008 Hybrid Tahoe on Monday, September 1, 2008 (Labor Day) at Grossman Chevrolet in Old Saybrook, CT. I used the GM website to select the vehicle, negotiate pricing, determine my trade-in value, and take care of pre-approval for the balance that I would have on the vehicle. I did take advantage of the $5k rebate and GM employee discount (I would get one anyways as a GM contractor).

Specifics include:

A Vortec 6.0L V-8, Active Fuel Management, 332 horsepower motor

Dual (two-mode) transmission

300 V battery pack

towing package

Navigation, CD/MP3/DVD system

Forward and rear individual conditioning system

Rear radio controls

Way too many cool luxury things

All standard with the hybrid.

I have driven the truck around the area in order to 'break it in' and it took a long time before the gas guage finally dropped from full.
