Out to Omaha, NE from Naperville and Back
Not too bad a trip to the PdM-2008 conference in Omaha, Nebraska, from Naperville, Illinois. Started out about noon on September 14th for the 400+ mile trip (6.5 hours). The weather was pretty nasty in Naperville, with a lot of rain and high winds - the end of the latest hurricane. Flooding made it difficult to get on I-88 Westbound.
The Stabilitrack program kept the truck from pulling even when I hit puddles. At the same time, the ability to get up to speed on entrance ramps made me feel far safer.
The show went exceptionally well. I spoke on Monday morning from 8 to 10am on Reliability, Maintenance, Energy and Environment. Then discussed the use of electrical motor diagnostics in the automotive industry with Dave Humphrey, Allison Transmission and UAW-GM, as my co-author, Bob Varco, UAW-GM, was unable to make it, on Wednesday.
The show was generally well received with over 600 attendees. However, I will provide details in my newsletter!
