Travel to Memphis, TN for Steel Conference

Traveled on October 1, 2008, to the 2008 AIST Technical Specialty Conference where I am presenting on 'Back to Basics DC Motor Maintenance.' I started out from Chicago and drove down to Memphis, TN, an ~8 hour drive. The only challenges I had was the raining of bugs as I proceeded out of Southern Illinois into Arkansas where they were burning fields. As they do not yet make a bug deflector for the front of the vehicle, the stops I had to make from Chicago to Memphis related to stopping at gas stations to use the winshield squeegies and personal coffee and pit stops.
For about 50+ miles in Southern Illinois, I tag teamed with a hybrid Saturn Vue. We acknowledged each other as they headed in a different direction. Always fun to be part of a small but growing group. The picture is of the hybrid Saturn as we hit one of the many construction areas.
So, folks, you really can buy a hybrid from an American company!
